Our Favorite Pictures of 2025, pt. 1

We're halfway through the year, so here's a gallery to mark the occasion

Los Angeles had a rough start to the year with the fires, but as recovery efforts were spurred into motion and the rebuild began, things started looking up. For a while at least. The pictures we’ve published so far reflect that: fear, but also hope, places of community and comfort, and new beginnings.
