I started going there in the '90s, but its golden era was undeniably 1999-2007. After that, it was a ghost of its former self. For the record, Kurt Cobain never played there—his haunt was Raji's on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood back in the day.

Ftr my reporting said he used to party there, not that he played!

He didn’t. You’re reporting is wrong and you’re goosing it with a lot Of things like Beck or Vampire Weekend. Novelty “secret shows”... atypical. I worked for Nirvana, the Melvins, toured with Hole and played guitar with Beck. Nirvana played Raji’s once. He lived in Seattle/Aberdeen. How and why would he be “hanging” around Silverlake or a tranny bar in the 80s at its deadest period? When he did move to L.A. in 92-93 ish. Kurt and Coutney lived by the Hollywood Bowl off Hightower. Having lived in SL in 80-90 most angelenos couldn’t even find silverlake or echo park.

Also Raji’s was on Hollywood Blvd not Sunset.

Kurt didn’t hang around Raji’s either. Nirvana played there once. I was there for that gig. “Hang around”, the only hanging around Kurt did was at Maria’s our dope dealer or the Hightower house by the bowl… I worked for Nirvana and the Melvins and many more
